VINEYARDS

Edens’ Vineyard

The “Little Vineyard That Could”. And the vineyard that birthed an empire. This is where Sound & Vision started. Perched at 1950’ in Talent, OR. 20+ year old Riesling vines. Farmed by us since 2019. North/Northwest facing. Certainly not certified, but farmed organically. No till.

Layne Vineyard

Merlot Mecca. Planted in the early 70’s. The inimitable Roger Layne and his son Cameron farm the most beautiful Bordeaux varietals available in So. Oregon. The (as far as I know) first Merlot plantings in the state. This site is so incredibly distinctive. I never looked, specifically, to make Merlot, but I did quite specifically look to make Layne Merlot. This is also where we source our Vermentino, which the Laynes prophetically grafted onto 50 year old Merlot vines 10 years ago. Who does that? Geniuses. Geniuses do that.

Celestina Vineyard

John and Shari Pratt are the caretakers of this meticulously farmed, super steep, high elevation, and drop dead gorgeous vineyard. Mostly Italian varietals planted on marine sedimentary soils. This is the source of our Barbera (one of the few plantings of Barbara in So. Oregon, which seems like a crime) and Sangiovese.

La Matriarca Vineyard

Our estate vineyard. A sprawling one half acre of Aglianico planted in 2020. The first Aglianico vines planted in So. Oregon. West facing. Gravely clay loam over decomposed granite. We believe, with the white hot passion of 1,000 burning suns, that So. Oregon is a prime growing region for So. Italian varietals like Aglianico. Let’s see if we’re right.

Faatoaga Vineyard

Née The Conner Vineyard, this vineyard was planted in the mid ‘90s to Zinfandel and Tempranillo, the Zinfandel coming from some of the old, original Troon cuttings. Planted on granite on the Kubli Bench in the Applegate Valley, this is some of the last Zinfandel left in the valley. Now owned and farmed by Harold and Kristine Fuimaono and their son Tanner.
